Russian Railways cuts cargo loading to China over pandemic

MOSCOW, Nov 30 (PRIME) -- Russian Railways is limiting loading of non-container cargo to the Chinese border as the country raised the COVID-19 restrictions, the company said in a statement on Tuesday in its Telegram channel.

"An urgent message from the Chinese side: border crossing Grodekovo– Suifenhe and Zabaikalsk-Mahchuria discontinued acceptance of all types of cargo except containers from November 30 and December 1 respectively,” Russian Railways said.

“The decision was made by the Chinese border cities… as part of the measures to boost prevention and control measures over the epidemiologic situation."
